A System for Asset Monitoring, Presentation, and Tracking (SAMPATI) designed and engineered by O/o Controller General of Accounts (CGA), Ministry of Finance, Government of India emerges as a crucial tool in this endeavor, offering a comprehensive framework to record, monitor, present, and track assets throughout their lifecycle maximize the value of diverse assets owned or controlled by governmental entities.

From infrastructure such as roads, bridges, and public buildings to equipment, vehicles, and IT systems, government assets represent significant investments aimed at supporting public services and infrastructure development. A well-implemented Asset Management System enables governments to monitor asset performance, assess risks, plan for maintenance and upgrades, and allocate resources strategically. SAMPATI enables Different Ministries and Departments under Government of India to maintain real-time visibility into their asset portfolios, facilitating informed decision-making and proactive maintenance strategies. Furthermore, SAMPATI plays a pivotal role in enhancing transparency and accountability within organizations. By documenting asset movements from recording of assets, Transfer of Assets with in same or different Ministries, condition assessments through Annual verification, and maintaining histories of each Asset.
